GREAT CABLE CHALLENGE16 October 2024 (by Joanne Swift (j.swift)) |
Do you want to help us make a difference for the environment and save some precious metals from going to waste? If so, we have a great opportunity for you!
The Policy and Compliance Team at Barnsley Council are working on a project to promote the recycling of e-waste, especially cables. Cables are full of valuable metals but most of them end up in landfills or incinerators. That's why we would you’re your support with The Great Cable Challenge, an easy way to get the community involved in e-waste recycling.
All you need to do is bring unwanted or broken cables to add to the box in school by 9.00am on Monday morning. Invite your neighbours, friends, and family to join in. By participating in The Great Cable Challenge, you will not only help us divert e-waste from landfills and recover valuable metals, understanding the importance of recycling. We believe that recycling is a learned behaviour that can start early and be championed at home.
Thank you for your support.
