Further to our last message we wanted to provide you with some more information regarding our plans for World Book Day.

On Thursday 6th March we invite children to come dressed as a book character. To help you with this, the PTA have asked that if anyone with costumes at home that are too small/no longer wanted, you drop them into the school office asap (clean please) and they will then sell these on for fraction of the original cost to raise funds for school.

We will also be holding a family reading session at 2:45pm. We encourage as many parents, carers and grandparents to come in to school to enjoy a book with the children. Please come along to read to your little one and their friends – it could be a story book, a quiz, some poetry or a magazine.

Over world book day week we will also be holding a book fair with every book being just £2 (days and times to be confirmed).

There will be a World Book Day Competition and we would love you to send a photo into school that shows you reading your way. It could be a picture of you reading in your favourite place, with your favourite reading buddy, reading your favourite book. Absolutely anything that shows us how you read. Prizes to be won! Please send these in by email to office@kingsoakplc.org.uk please ensure they are clearly marked with your child’s name and class teacher.
