Steelers Photos!2 February 2026 (by David Lovatt (d.lovatt)) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for supporting our school visit to watch the Sheffield Steelers yesterday. I would also like to give a special mention to Simon Wistow who supported us in contacting the Steelers to plan this opportunity and for providing everyone with an orange flag!
The atmosphere in the Arena was absolutely amazing and it was a fantastic experience for our children to watch an elite-level ice hockey match — made even better by the Steelers’ emphatic 8–0 win over the Flyers! It was a day that I know many of the children (and adults!) will remember for a long time.
It was genuinely heart-warming to see children from across the school, alongside parents and staff, all enjoying the game together. That sense of community and shared experience is exactly what our school is all about. I was also incredibly proud of our children, their behaviour throughout the visit was absolutely excellent. They embraced the occasion, joined in with the dancing and the atmosphere, and represented our school brilliantly.
If you took any photographs of your child at the game, we would be very grateful if you could forward them to kingsoakoffice@watertonacademytrust.org so that we can proudly display them and celebrate the visit together.
Thank you once again for supporting the trip, for signing up to attend, arranging your own travel, and fully getting into the spirit of the game. Your enthusiasm helped make the day such a success. We very much hope to hold similar events in the future — both further visits to the Steelers and trips to support other local teams across a range of different sports, if anyone has any contacts please let me know!
Thanks again for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Mr Lovatt
