Final PE and After School Club Information Before Half Term12 February 2026 (by David Lovatt (d.lovatt)) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach Half Term, we would like to share some final reminders regarding PE and After School Clubs.
PE Update
We are pleased to say that we are now ready to introduce both an outdoor and an indoor PE session each week for all children (except Foundation Stage), in line with government expectations.
Please ensure that your child’s PE kit follows the new uniform policy that was sent out a couple of weeks ago. Earrings must be either removed or taped over for PE lessons. Our coloured PE tops are still available from the school office at a cost of £2 per top if you require any extras!
Indoor PE sessions will take place in the school hall and will be barefoot, unless otherwise agreed with your child’s class teacher. For KS1 pupils, please ensure that children come to school wearing their normal school shoes rather than trainers on indoor PE days. Many children are still unable to tie their own laces and can take up a significant amount of teaching time.
Please remember to look at the timetable sent out last week which displays which days your child has PE on moving forwards.
After School Clubs
If you successfully signed your child up for a teacher-run club using the forms before they closed on Wednesday, your child will have secured a place. A confirmation slip will be sent home today to confirm their place in the requested club. If you have any questions regarding teacher-run clubs, please contact the school office.
There are still some spaces available in the paid clubs run by our external partner, Grassroots. The following clubs currently have availability:
-
KS2 Multi Sports Club (benchball, dodgeball etc.) – Monday
-
KS2 Boxercise / Boxing Club – Friday
-
KS1 Multi Skills Club – Tuesday
These clubs cost £2 per session and run for 5 weeks.
If your child is interested in attending any of these clubs, please contact the school office as soon as possible to secure a place.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Mr Lovatt
