Head Lice (Nits) Alert – Please Check Your Child’s Hair Year 115 April 2026 (by Jade Taylor (JadeT)) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to inform you that we have identified a number of cases of head lice (nits) in Year 1.
Head lice are very common in primary-aged children and, while not harmful, they can spread quickly through close contact. We kindly ask that you check your child’s hair regularly over the coming days.
If you do find head lice or eggs (nits), please treat them promptly using an appropriate treatment from your local pharmacy and follow up with regular wet-combing to ensure they are fully removed.
To help prevent further spread:
• Check all family members
• Wash bedding, hats, and hair accessories
• Keep long hair tied back where possible
Your support in managing this is greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
