Important Reminder: Early Collection Procedures26 June 2026 (by Jade Taylor (JadeT)) |
Dear Parents and Carers,
We have seen a significant increase in requests for children to be collected early from school during the recent hot weather, with many citing medical or other appointments as the reason.
Where appointments are genuine, we will, as always, support families. However, we are aware that some reasons given for early collection have not been accurate. Providing false information to secure an early collection is unacceptable and undermines the trust between home and school.
Every early collection disrupts your child's learning, causes them to miss valuable teaching time, and impacts the organisation of the school day. It also places additional pressure on office staff and teachers, who must interrupt lessons and manage repeated collections throughout the day.
We have robust procedures in place and may ask for evidence of medical or other appointments where appropriate. We ask all parents to be honest when requesting leave during the school day and to arrange appointments outside school hours wherever possible.
Our priority is ensuring that every child receives the full education they are entitled to. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a calm, consistent learning environment for all pupils.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
