Dear Parents and Carers,

Tomorrow we will be celebrating World Cup Day in school!

Children are invited to come to school wearing an international football kit (or shirt with sporty bottoms) to help us celebrate the many countries and cultures represented within our school community. We are proud to have 18 different ethnicities in our school, making this a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate our diversity.

We know that many children may not own a football kit, so they are very welcome to wear the colours of their country instead. It doesn't matter whether their nation is still in the competition or not – everyone is encouraged to take part! England of course wear red or white alongside others including Croatia, Czechia and Turkey, there’s the blue of Congo, the green of Nigeria, the yellow of Ghana or any other nation from around the world, all are welcome.

Please note: It is Year 3/4 Sports Day at 9.15am tomorrow, and it is important that Year 3 and 4 children wear their House T-shirts, as there are team events throughout the morning. If they would like to take part in our World Cup celebrations as well, they are welcome to bring football shirts, scarves, hats or other football-themed items to change into afterwards.

We can't wait to see our school filled with a rainbow of wonderful colours as we celebrate football, friendship and the rich diversity of our community together.
