Sports Day – Important Notice for Parents and Carers

Dear Parents and Carers,

As our Sports Day events continue, we would like to thank everyone for their support and enthusiasm.

To ensure the safety and safeguarding of all children, the school gates will remain locked throughout the event. If parents really need to leave for work or appointments we understand, however, we have had a number of instances where parents have requested access in and out of the school grounds to have a cigarette or vape. This creates unnecessary disruption and means our caretaker and other staff have to continually leave other essential duties to unlock and relock the gates.

We kindly ask that if you choose to attend Sports Day, you either:

• Remain on site for the duration of the event, or

• If you need to leave, please do so with the understanding that you will not likely be able to return.

This procedure is not intended to inconvenience anyone. It is in place to maintain the security of the school site and to fulfil our safeguarding responsibilities by ensuring all children remain safe.

We appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and support in helping us provide a safe and enjoyable Sports Day for all of our children.
