 Welcome from the Headteachers

Welcome to Kings Oak Primary.  We are proud to be an Ofsted Outstanding school at the heart of a community that is passionate about educating young people.  Our centre strives to provide the best opportunities to support the development of every child from three to eleven and promotes learning for everyone for life. We believe in forming strong partnerships with our community and providing an excellent service to enable every family and young person with the greatest opportunity to improve their life chances. We are committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing to all pupils, their families, staff and governors. We hope your child will be happy, safe, achieve and enjoy the time they are with us in our Centre and that our children become well-rounded citizens in our community and the wider world. We aim to provide first quality learning and teaching experiences, through a creative curriculum, for your child to ensure they are equipped with the vital skills, knowledge and understanding to live in a forever changing world.

We welcome your cooperation in providing your child with every advantage for development within school and value parental support. Positive relationships are the key to success.

If anyone has any cause for concern about a child’s welfare or progress, we aim as soon as possible to work together with the appropriate agencies to secure your child's well-being.

We feel privileged to be the headteachers of Kings Oak Primary and be entrusted with your children. The team at Kings Oak Primary are committed to ensuring your child receives the best all-around education possible.

    Dear Parents and Guardians,

We would like to inform you that our school website has been updated to reflect our current attendance policy.

To support families in understanding attendance expectations, we have attached a document titled “Attendance Essentials for Parents,” which highlights key information, responsibilities, and procedures related to student attendance.

We encourage all parents and guardians to review this information carefully, as regular attendance plays a vital role in student success. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Please see below information from a SEND Parent in regards to a Parent Group:

"My name is Rebecca Harrison and I am SEND Parent Carer who lives in Barnsley who has set up a SEND Parent Carer group called KindRoots. We meet once a month in Barnsley Library (The LightBox) and will also be putting on meals and crafting sessions. Along with group meetings with professionals such as PDA Specialists and Sensory Occupational Therapists to support SEND parents and carers in the borough completely free of charge.

I have also taken on a large allotment in Barnsley called The Education Patch which when completed. I am hoping to support SEND children with learning how to plant fruit and vegetables, learn about wildlife, create bug hotels, composting and womerys and so much more".
