 Welcome from the Headteachers

Welcome to Kings Oak Primary.  We are proud to be an Ofsted Outstanding school at the heart of a community that is passionate about educating young people.  Our centre strives to provide the best opportunities to support the development of every child from three to eleven and promotes learning for everyone for life. We believe in forming strong partnerships with our community and providing an excellent service to enable every family and young person with the greatest opportunity to improve their life chances. We are committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing to all pupils, their families, staff and governors. We hope your child will be happy, safe, achieve and enjoy the time they are with us in our Centre and that our children become well-rounded citizens in our community and the wider world. We aim to provide first quality learning and teaching experiences, through a creative curriculum, for your child to ensure they are equipped with the vital skills, knowledge and understanding to live in a forever changing world.

We welcome your cooperation in providing your child with every advantage for development within school and value parental support. Positive relationships are the key to success.

If anyone has any cause for concern about a child’s welfare or progress, we aim as soon as possible to work together with the appropriate agencies to secure your child's well-being.

We feel privileged to be the headteachers of Kings Oak Primary and be entrusted with your children. The team at Kings Oak Primary are committed to ensuring your child receives the best all-around education possible.

NSPCC Number Day06Feb2026

Our school will be supporting and raising money for NSPCC Number Day on the 6th February. Children are encouraged to wear something with numbers on it. This will be a dress up day related to numbers so this could be something as simple as wearing a football kit or children could go all out! The aim of the day is to encourage a love for numeracy, we will be completing lots of fun activities throughout the day. Any donations would be welcome if possible, any silver e.g. 5p, 10p, 20p etc. you can spare to build a track around school and be donated to the cause. Thank you in anticipation of your support.

    Dear Parents/Carers,

If you have ordered Steelers tickets, please note that these will be sent home with your child today.

Seats have been preallocated, and unfortunately we are unable to make any changes to the allocated seating. If you wish to swap seats with another family, you are welcome to arrange this directly between yourselves; however, the school is unable to assist with seat changes.

Please see the attached letter confirming the final arrangements for Sunday.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Kind regards,

    POTTY TRAINING GUIDE

We are sharing some important information today regarding toilet training and its vital role in your child's early development and school readiness.

Experts note that the ideal window for children to be fully potty trained is generally between 18 and 30 months, provided there are no underlying medical conditions. Achieving this milestone not only supports their long-term bowel and bladder health but also prepares them for a successful start in school. Currently, we are seeing a concerning statistic: one in four children are starting reception class still needing nappies. When staff have to manage individual toileting needs, it reduces teaching time for everyone in the classroom by an average of 1.4 hours daily.

To help you navigate this journey with minimum stress, we have attached a POTTY TRAINING GUIDE full of helpful hints and tips.

Please take time to read the guide. If you know other families who are approaching this milestone, we encourage you to share this information with them as well.

Thank you for your partnership in supporting your child's development!

    NEW UNIFORM POLICY

Kings Oak Primary School requires all pupils to wear a simple, smart, and practical uniform. Clear rules apply to jewellery, hairstyles, footwear, and personal appearance, with items such as smart watches, make-up, extreme hairstyles, and unsafe shoes not permitted.

The school is committed to equality, affordability, and supporting families through optional non-branded uniform and pre-loved items.

We have just reviewed our Uniform Policy and this has been published on our website. A two page summary document is attached for easy reading.
